The K1 is the largest model which utilises the original unique Vivid Audio cabinet form. As with all Vivid Audio designs, the cabinet has been developed to give the best foundation for the drive units whilst its curved edges reduce the effects of standing waves on the cabinet’s edges. Made from the same injected carbon fibre reinforced polyester compound as used in all Vivid Audio designs except Giya, the cabinet has the ideal density and strength necessary for the very best performance.

A 3½ way vented cabinet design, the K1 utilises four bass units to deal with the low frequencies. The two bass drivers mounted on the front baffle are directly coupled to two identical bass drivers mounted on the rear. Internally, these drivers are coupled in pairs via screw tensioning units for reaction cancelling. This method of bass loading reduces the amount of unwanted mechanical energy transmitted from the drive units into the cabinet with the result being tighter and more accurate bass response. A crossover design unique to Vivid Audio progressively rolls off the mid frequencies to all but the top front driver before finally handing over to the D50 mid-range unit.

The integral stand of the K1 provides the speaker with the perfect stable footing required for a floorstanding model. This is further guaranteed when the five custom machined spikes are fitted.
