Aura
Originating from the UK during the 1980’s, the Aura brand has gained recognition the world over for both its sound quality and clean, minimalist design. When looking to create the latest range, Aura turned to the man who penned those original designs – Kenneth Grange – to implement the latest technology into a design that is modern yet timeless.
Kenneth Grange needs no introduction to those who know anything about modern industrial design. Responsible to such iconic products as the Kodak Instamatic camera, razors for Wilkinson Sword, food mixers for Kenwood and the UK’s Intercity 125 train, Grange is also the man behind the recent Bowers & Wilkins 40th anniversary Signature Diamond loudspeakers.
When it came to working again on the Aura brand, Grange was quick to accept as he was given a free hand based on the simplistic approach of the original products. As he explains “The design philosophybehind the note Premier is to follow the ideology of simple well engineered products where the function is clear to see and the controls are easy and direct in use”. Grange continues “The use of glass – one of the world’s most common but beautiful products - is to allow the clarity of purpose to be enjoyed and to appreciate the strength and value of this material.”
The three products now available (Aura note Premier all-in-one music system, the Groove integrated amplifier and the Neo CD player) all feature the very best-in-class components to give a sound quality that sounds as good as it looks.
